Hard luck to our Junior A hurlers who came up just short in their bid to land a first ever Division 1 title for the club. For the most part Holycross were the better team with a sprinkling of seniors mixed throughout the field and they generally kept Brackens at bay with 4/5 points in it for three-quarters of an hour. But to their great credit the lads kept going and put in a storming last quarter to close within a point. A great save from the Holycross goalie kept out Jack Kennedy in injury time to leave the Abbey boys victorious on a 1-15 to 0-15 scoreline. The club would also like to wish Jordan Moloney a speedy recovery following a serious neck injury sustained in the first half.
