Hard luck to our U-16 hurlers who went down to Durlas Og on a 4-25 to 0-12 scoreline in Round 2 of the Mid Championship played at Pairc na nOg this evening. Right from the off the lads were under pressure against an exceptional team who hardly had a weak link throughout the field. They led at the short whistle by 1-13 to 0-4 and never took their foot off the gas in the second half. To be fair to our lads they never gave up and battled right to the end. And just to put things into context. We were all amazed yesterday when we heard Cork had scored 24 first half points. In the first round of this championship Durlas Og scored 7-38 against Holycross including 4-23 in the first half. At U-16 level. Give us a break.
