The death occured today of JJ Kelly, 11 McDonagh Terrace. JJ played with the Eire Og club in the 1960's winning two Senior Football Mid titles in 1963 and again in 1964. He was also a fine hurler winning two Rice Cup medals with Templemore CBS in 1959 and 1960 while going on to win two Minor A hurling Mid finals in 1961 and 1962. As a mark of respect the club will hold a stationary guard of honour on Saturday morning at 11.30am. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we will form the guard of honour between Tigh Mhuire and the Church while observing social distancing.Once the hearse has passed we will disperse. Due to Covid-19 there is no obligation on anyone to attend. May he rest in peace.
