Hard luck to our Junior B hurlers who lost out to Moyne/Templetuohy in the Mid quarter-final last Friday night. Missing a couple of key players through injury and holidays it was always going to be a tough task. The home side opened brightly and led by 1-3 to 0-1 after twelve minutes, but Brackens grabbed a foothold and trailed by just three at the break, 1-7 to 0-7. Nicky Madden (5) and Paddy Delaney (2) were on target for Brackens. The sides shared four points in the opening ten minutes of the second half (Delaney and Darren Russell for Brackens), before Moyne landed their second goal for what turned out to be the vital score. They pushed the lead out to eight with three minutes to go before a late flurry, including a goal from Denis Noonan, closed the gap to three. But it was too little too late as Moyne held on for a 2-14 to 1-14 win. To the management team and players we say well done and thank you for all your efforts throughout the season.
