For the third year in a row since the competitions inception JK Brackens Og and Na Sairsealaigh Og clashed in the Mid U-19 A football title. Brackens claimed the inaugural title thanks to a Joe Bourke hat-trick in 2021, but the Blues wrestled the title away from us last year. Brackens began well lsat night and led by 0-4 to 0-0 early on thanks to points from Brian Quinn (2), Ned Walsh and Jamie Ormond. Thurles rallied in the second quarter to land three points but Brackens grabbed two more through Ned Delaney and another from Walsh to lead 0-6 to 0-3 at the break. Brackens had missed a lot of chances which left Thurles in the game and they closed the gap to one after 38 mins. Two points each from Ormond and Ciaran O'Shea and another from Quinn steadied the Brackens ship to push them four ahead with time running out. A goal from Ned Walsh made it safe with Thurles grabbing a consolation goal at the death to leave Brackens 1-11 to 1-7 ahead at full-time. Well done to all players and mentors. They lads now go forward to face Fethard in the county semi-final.
