Running any organisation or club comes at a cost, making the efforts of the fundraising committee vital to its survival. The club is currently involved in a novel calf-rearing fundraiser where over 30 calves have been donated. These calves are presently being reared by various farmers within the parish who will then sell them on behalf of the club between 16 and 18 months old, which will be roughly around next September. All the proceeds will go towards the running costs of the club. As a token of the club's appreciation all those involved in the scheme were invited to the clubhouse at Pairc Shileain last Friday night where they were presented with club jackets, sourced by Seamus O’Dwyer through an anonymous donor. A beautiful video presentation, designed by Aoife Percy and Cillian Roche was also shown, which highlighted all the development work carried out by the club in the last few years. Chairman Paddy Cadell gave an insight into the costs associated with these developments and thanked all those involved in the calf-rearing project along with all other club supporters who continue to support us financially.
