Congratulations to our Junior A hurlers who made history last night by capturing the Division 1 Mid hurling league for the first time. Moycarkey were fastest out of the traps and led by four points after 5 minutes but Brackens rallied well with Michael Cahill, Eddie Bergin and Darragh Doyle all in good scoring form. The sides were level at the break (1-10 to 0-13) and the nip and tuck nature continued after the break. A second Moycarkey goal gave them first sight at the trophy but substitute Ciaran O'Shea finished with a flourish, landing 1-1 at the death to give Brackens a 1-23 to 2-18 victory. Well done to all involved.
