Congratulations to our U14s who won the Peil B mid final today In Templetuohy

It was a busy week for the lads won the semi final on Wednesday evening beating Loughmore/Castleiney on a scoreline of 2-07 to 1-04 to qualify for the Jimmy Coppinger Peil Mid Final.

The Final was a closer battle than the score line would suggest with some great battles all over the field, in fact it was Templetuohy who started the strongest and went on the attack straight away but were un able to make it count on the score board regitering a couple of wides instead. Brian quinn eventually did open the scorline with well taken point from a free just before Brian Bourke  emerged from a scramble to open his account with a goal. It was the two Brians again who got the next 2 scores again with another pointed free from Brian quinn and a point from play from Brian Bourke. The last two scores of the half would come from Ned Delaney who had come up from his half back position to slot over a point and Joseph Bourke who went for a point from distance but had to content himself with a goal as he lobbed Cormac Kiely in the Moyne/Templetuohy goal to make the score line 2-04 to no score at the break.

Moyne/templetuohy started the second half as the did the first half on the attack and opened their account with a point from Jake Bowe but again registered a few more wides before the Brackens lads would take hold again, Daniel Joyce opened the second half account with a goal for brackens after he got onto the end of blocked down shot from Brian Bourke to finish into the Templetuohy net. It was the two Brians again to step up with Brian Quinn scoring two points either side of a Brian Bourke goal. Dennis Noonan had the final score with a well taken goal into the roof of the net to see the final score JK Brackens 5-07 Templetuohy 0-01, Credit has to be given to our hard working lads in mid field and backs that even when Templetuohy had there periods of dominance they never let them make it count on the scoreboard. Brian Quinn who had really played his captains role deservedely collected the Jimmy Coppinger Peil B cup from Jimmy himself, Mid Chairman Michael Delaney and Mid secretary Catherine Dunne.
