Mid Senior Championship action got underway this weekend and our Senior Hurlers took on neighbours Clonakenny in the Ragg yesterday.  In sunny conditions, Clonakenny got off to a better a start registering a goal in the opening minutes.  The first half was closely contested with Brackens having the lion's share of possession but not showing their dominance on the scoreboard.  First half points from Andrew Ormonde, Shane Scully, Shane Doyle, Lyndon Fairbrother, Tom Murphy and David O' Shea saw us take in a slender one-point lead at half time 0-10 to 1-6.  The second half however was all Brackens and a goal from a Lyndon Fairbrother penalty along with Clonakenny being reduced to 14 men put Brackens firmly in the driving seat.  Jordan Moloney added a second goal within a minute of his introduction and some well-taken points from Shane Scully, Lyndon Fairbrother and Paddy Cadell ensured that we ran out comfortable winners with a final score of 2-23 to 1-13.  

Senior Championship action will now break until Tipperary's involvement in the championship concludes later in teh summer.
