Last night in Holycross saw our U-12 footballers lose out to Durlas Og following a titanic battle. A rip-roaring start to the game saw Brackens hit three goals in the opening quarter from the boot of Jack Marnell, Niall Delaney and Padraig O'Shea. A very dubious black card for Ryan Loughnane was to have a huge effect on the game as he had been doing a great man-marking job on their best player. Brackens led 3-2 to 1-4 at the short whistle but two early second half majors saw Durlas Og take a three point lead. Brackens re-grouped and stayed within three points but despite being camped in their half for the last five minutes they couldn't find the equalising goal. The lads deserve great credit for the enormous effort put in but must now turn their focus to the hurling championship. Well done also to management for all your time and effort. Keep it going. Full-Time score: Durlas Og 3-8 JK Brackens 3-5.
