Well done to our Senior hurling team who had a good victory over Upperchurch in the Park tonight. Despite missing a number of regulars coupled with the inclement weather both teams served up a decent display. Brackens were under the cosh in the opening half playing against the elements and trailed by 0-10 to 0-5 at the break with Lyndon Fairbrother our lone scorer. What a start the lads made to the second half. A goal and a point from Fairbrother followed by points from David O'Shea (2), Shane Doyle (0-2) Aidan Fogarty and Tom Murphy saw us hit 1-7 in ten minutes to a lone point from the Church to put us four up. It was tit for tat for the next quarter hour before Fairbrother cracked home a smashing goal with five minutes to go to put the result beyond doubt. Upperchurch scored a late consolation goal to leave the final score 2-16 to 1-15. We now go forward to play Clonakenny in the quarter-final.
