Both our U-12 hurling teams were in Mid Championship action against Durlas Og in the Cathedral Town this evening. Seconds were first up in tier three but came out on the wrong side of a 6-4 to 1-3 scoreline. They now play Holycross in their final group game on Friday night. The first team got off to a slow start and found themselves eight down at tea-time (2-5 to 0-3). Straight from the re-start Tom Corcoran gathered possession, cut through the home defence and billowed the net. This score set the tone for the entire second half as Brackens dominated holding the hosts to a single pointed free. Further goals from Sean Walsh and Dan "The Man" Coffey were added to by Jack Marnell's accurate free taking to give Brackens victory on a 3-7 to 2-6 scoreline. As things turned out both sides will meet again in the Mid semi-final. Round-Robin is one thing. Knockout is another. Next week will tell all. For now. Well done on an excellent victory.
