Well done to our U-14 hurlers who captured the Mid B title in Holycross on Saturday morning last. Playing with the aid of a gale in the opening half Brackens started well but found scores hard to come by. Four Jamie Ormond frees, a Michael Cahill minor and a Paddy Hickey major gave us a shaky enough half-time lead considering the conditions. The boys got a great start to the second half when Cian Sheedy pointed and Ciaran O'Shea goaled to leave us 2-6 to 0-3 ahead. But back came the Drom boys with a mighty rally to close within three but a Michael Coffey free steadied the ship and Brackens held the day on a 2-7 to 1-7 scoreline. The lads have now completed the Feile/Mid double and go forward to face the South champions in the county semi-final on September 7th. Best of luck boys.
