Strong at the beginning and the end Brackens U-14 hurlers advanced to the County B hurling final following their 2-14 to 1-8 victory over Kilsheelan/Kilcash in Killenaule on Saturday. A blistering start to the game saw Jamie Ormond hit a major and two minors along with minor from a Jamie Bergin free. The South champions slowly warmed to the task netting a major of their own midway through the half. Points from play from Michael Cahill and Daniel Joyce were matched by a brace from Kilsheelan to leave the half-time score 1-6 to 1-4. The teams were evenly matched in the third quarter before a great run and centre from Michael Coffey set up Jack Marnell for the goal that swung the tie in our favour. Another Cahill point from play combined with four from Ormond saw us run out 2-14 to 1-8 winners. We now advance to meet North champions Burgess in next Saturday's final. And once again it's into the West on County final day with throw-in at Dundrum down for 1pm. Best of luck boys. Brackens Abu.
