Well done to our minor hurling team who advanced to the knockout stages of the Mid championship following their five point victory (2-15 to 2-10) over Boherlahan in the Park last night. Stunned by the concession of 2-1 in the opening three mniutes Brackens knuckled down to the task of reeling in the boys in blue. Darragh Doyle (4 frees) and a point from play by Jack Nevin kept us in touch before the impressive Conor Cadell set up Joe Bourke for a well taken goal to leave it 2-5 to 1-5 at the break. Boherlahan were again off to a fast start after the tea break when they landed the opening after just seven seconds. It was tit for tat for a while after that before Brackens took over in the final quarter. Driven on from the back by Diarmuid Delaney, James Corcoran and Luke Ormond scores came easier with Cadell landing three from play. Corcoran, Nevin and Bourke added three more before Niall Moloney's goal put the seal on a good night's work. We now play Thurles Sarsfields in our final group with a semi-final place guaranteed.
