2003 saw us win the County Junior B football final when we defeated Clonmel Commercials by a single point in New Inn. Playing second fiddle for most of the match Brackens made a late surge and were awarded a penalty in injury time when trailing by two points. Having missed an earlier penalty Spooner was relieved of duty by Ray Doyle who calmly stroked the ball to the net to land the title on a 1-8 to 1-7 scoreline. Sean Leahy was the Captain ( also saved a penalty that day ) and Sean Percy was the manager. This photo shows Gerry McGourty of Polly's Pub presenting a set of gear bags to Sean Leahy ahead of the final.
