Congratulations to our U-15 A footballers who brought home the first cup of the year when they defeated Durlas Og to capture the Mid Final in Boherlahan last night. In a tight opening quarter there was very little between the sides with the Thurles boys squandering a number of chances. They were left to rue those misses before half-time as ace marksman Cormac Foy raised two green flags in the space of a minute to put us six up. To their credit Durlas Og dug in and responded with three excellent points to leave the half time score 2-6 to 0-8. Goals win games and when Foy hit two more immediately after the break Brackens were never going to be caught. Another brace of majors from Dylan Quinlan, six minors from Jamie Ormond and two more from Ciaran O'Shea left the final score at 6-8 to 0-13. Apart from the score-getters this was a good team performance all round and the lads all worked hard for each other. They now go forward to meet the West Champions in the County semi-final with date and venue to be confirmed. Well done to players and management on a fine win.
