Well done to our Junior A hurlers who recorded a fine victory over neighbours Loughmore in the park on Friday night. Having been heavily defeated by the same opposition in the League this was a much improved performance from Brackens and they were at it right from the throw-in. The work rate was high and they never allowed Loughmore to settle on the ball. Shane Doyle (3), Jack Nevin, Diarmuid Delaney and David O’Shea had us 0-6 to 0-3 ahead at the water break and that lead was doubled by the short whistle thanks to Doyle (4), Delaney, O’Shea and Aidan Fogarty. (0-13 o 0-7). The red and green rallied briefly after the break to cut the lead to four but Brackens cancelled that out with points from Doyle and O’Shea before two majors from Lorcan Roche and Darragh Doyle sealed the deal. Shane Doyle, Delaney and Nevin closed out the scoring for Brackens before a late major for Loughmore left the final score 2-18 to 1-14 in Brackens favour. This win guarantees a final four spot ahead of our final round-robin game against Moycarkey.
