Following the Senior success on Saturday, attention now turns to the U-19 A hurling championship which begins tomorrow night (Wed). Brackens travel to Littleton to take on Moycarkey with a 7.30pm throw-in. Drom, Sars, Boherlahan and Holycross make up the sextet with the top four advancing to the semi-finals following the round-robin series. These matches will take place every Wednesday night. Our Junior B hurlers are in action on Friday night when they take on Knock in Clonmore at 7.30pm. Following their opening round win over Clonakenny they suffered defeat at the hands of Drom/Inch on Sunday evening in the Park on a 0-23 to 0-10 scoreline. Brackens are in a group of six with Holycross and Moyne to come in Rounds four and five. There are five teams in the opposite group ( Killea, Gortnahoe, Thurles Gaels, Thurles Sarsfields and Moycarkey ), with the top four from each advancing to the quarter-finals. All roads will then lead to Boherlahan on Sunday for the Mid Tipperary Senior hurling final where Brackens take on Drom/Inch at 3.30pm. Remember you must purchase your ticket online in advance of the game as there will be no cash taken at the gate. (See link below). This game will also be live streamed for just €10 and the link will be available in the coming days. And finally we salute Jamie Ormond, Ray Doyle and the Tipperary minor hurling team on their magnificent success in Nowlan Park on Sunday last. It was an immensely proud day for our club with both men putting our name to the forefront once more. Ray has been an outstanding servant to JK Brackens for many years, both as a player and in management, and he thoroughly deserves all the joy that came his way during the past six months. Jamie's young career already has so many highlights and his commitment and dedication to the game of hurling is an inspiration to all around him. There is fantastic work going on at juvenile level in JK Brackens and to see your own club player going forward to represent the Blue and Gold at the highest level gives everybody a boost. Well done to you both. The memory will live forever. Brackens Abu.
