Our Junior A hurlers advanced to the last four of the Mid Junior A hurling championship following a six point win over neighbours Loughmore in Castleiney on Sunday last. Following a tight first half Brackens led by a point (7-6), but within five minutes of the restart they had struck for home. Darragh Doyle (2) and Ned Delaney scored good points before Martin Bergin struck for the opening goal. He followed up with a point a minute later to put Brackens eight clear and the game was done. Further points from play courtesy of Niall Martin, Joe Bourke and Sean Collier saw Brackens ahead 1-16 to 0-13 at the final whistle. Following last night's draw Brackens have been pitted against Moycarkey in the semi-final while Holycross take on Boherlahan in the second semi-final.
